Mr. Ness is working hard!

History

The idea of a missions trip had long been in Mr. Bev Ness' heart. It had been a dream of his since way back when, but who would have thought that a dream like this one, could turn into such a wonderful organization within Masters Academy and College?

Mr. Ness loved giving, and he thought that taking playgrounds to needy areas of the world would be a wonderful project for our school's students. After thinking about this he started working on a way to make this dream of his come true. Little by little this thought took root and Mr. Ness set out looking for a playground.

As most know, looking for a playground to take to a foreign country is very difficult, if not impossible, but still Mr. Ness did not give up. He searched for any older or unused playground he could get his hands on and was affordable. But how was he to get all that money? It was no use. Most playgrounds were far beyond the amount of money Mr. Ness or the school could afford.

A feeling of complete disappointment hit him as he realized there was nothing else he could do. So he gave up looking and started praying. it seems that Mr. Ness's prayers did not go unnoticed, because the very next day, a man phoned him up and told him about a used playground in Calgary. Mr. Ness told him he could not afford a playground. But wait! The man told him that this playground would be a gift to the Master's Academy's Missions Team!

This was the the start of a miracle. But now there  was yet, another problem.-  a transporting container big enough to go down to Tobago. So again Mr. Ness began searching, and strangely enough, he found an empty container available to go down to Tobago. It was settled, they would pack up the playground that week because it would take at least 45 days for the playground to travel by rail, across Canada and then by ship to Tobago. Over the next few weeks the crew packed up and headed down to Tobago.

Within those two weeks, a playground was assembled, and by the end, the kids in Tobago had a place to play. It was a true miracle!

The Playground Missions Trip has become an established program which occurs every year. Because of that one trip, many people have heard about Mr. Ness's trip, and have offered enough playgrounds to last us as long as missions trip are done at Master's Academy and College.

Mr. Ness had a dream, and because he persevered, that dream came true! What a lesson for all of us to learn...
